Executive Coaching – sustaining momentum

Paradigm is a successful and forward thinking business which sees Executive Coaching as one of the keys in supporting them to achieve their goals and helping them to shape the future of the business by helping them to:

‘maintain momentum and make it happen.’

Paradigm is a family business started in 1990, which has grown into an international business employing 45 people over four countries. Paradigm have the world’s production and selling rights to a document management system called Easyfile and have been successful in becoming one of IBM’s International Business Partners. In 2004 the company was on the verge of substantial growth, in fact making a significant step change that would revolutionise the way the business was currently operating, significantly increasing turnover and profit potential….but these things take time.

The Chief Executive, John Bloomfield, had a vision. He knew the product’s potential and he knew that the growth would happen, but as a relatively small business owner - who did he talk to about the things that, in his words, “keep you awake at 4.00 in the morning?”

Accelerating Change became that listening ear…but we also challenged John’s thinking, working with to him address the key issues he was facing both at a corporate and personal level. We worked with John over a period of six months, using a number of psychometric profiles and one-to-one coaching sessions.

“Running a business is a lonely place. Running a small business where the pressure is on all of the time can be daunting. Who do you talk to and bounce ideas off? Everyone in the business has a point of view, an angle, even their own agenda and you need to see through that and think of the business and take the long view.

I found Executive Coaching a great way of testing out my theories and ideas without the need to justify what I was saying; without the pressure, this became much easier and ideas flowed that much better, being able to talk openly meant being less lonely, talking to someone who was not judgmental cleared the thought process.“

John Bloomfield
Chief Executive, Paradigm
